Earth day Celebration clean up

The Regional Environmental Council is once again sponsoring its annual celebration of Earth Day on  Saturday, April 10, 2021, from 8:00AM to 12:00PM. I have volunteered to be a Site Coordinator for 2 locations:

  • West Boylston Drive Barrier Wall - Community Teaching Garden Literacy Project Site

  • Norton Drive Embankment Site

If you are interested in volunteering for either site, please send me an email by April 1, 2021.

On April 10, 2021, we will meet  at 7:45AM at my home, located at 55 West Boylston Drive, for a site orientation meeting, signing of volunteering agreements, the safety demonstration, and distribution of gloves, tools and trash bags.

ILCA, Inc., became the sponsor of the Norton Drive Embankment through the Department of Transportation Adopt-A-Visibility Site program.

The Department of Transportation Region 3 office has committed to regularly cutting the grass area up to the tree/brush line of the embankment. ILCA, Inc., has committed to maintaining the grass area free of all litter, trash and debris from April until weather conditions change in late fall / early winter.

Currently at the corner of Norton Drive and Shore Road is an ILCA, Inc., sponsorship sign. We are allowed to beautify the base area of the sign. If anyone has an interest and a creative idea on how to beautify the base of the sign, please share your idea!
