Short-term goals
  1. Establish a community garden on the parcel of land located on the inside of the barrier wall along West Boylston Drive

  2. Design and produce two wall murals: one, from roughly 55 West Boylston Dr. to the corner of Mattson Avenue and West Boylston Drive, at the entrance to 149 West Boylston Dr.; and, one, along the I-190 concrete retaining wall that runs parallel to the parcel of land located at 149 West Boylston Dr.

  3. Define the target area to be included in the project

  4. Designate street captains in the project area

  5. Establish long-term goals for the target area

Actions so far
  1. Community garden
    Status: In progress

    • Access Permit being completed, and to be filed with state Department of Transportation

    • Adopt-A-Visibility Site application being completed, and to be filed with DOT

    • Community Garden petition being completed, and to be filed with the City Council

    • Water-service request for community garden being completed, and to be filed with city Department of Public Works & Parks
       

  2. Two wall murals
    Status: In progress

    • Site visit has been made by Erin Williams, city’s cultural development officer

    • Original I-190 concrete-retaining-wall architectural plans have been submitted to Erin Williams

    • Access Permit being completed, and to be filed with state DOT

  3. Street captains
    Status: In progress

    • Three of the estimated 50+ street captains have so far been designated:

      • Mattson Avenue: Duncan Maclean

      • Stowell Avenue: Justin Forku

      • West Boylston Drive: Carl Gomes
